Clothes with motifs Railcar 843 “Apollo”
ČD Class 843 railcars were built by Moravskoslezská vagónka between 1995 and 1997 (31 units). They use AC/DC electric transmission powered by two turbocharged LIAZ diesels (2×300 kW) and have a top speed of 110 km/h. The design derives from Class 842 and they work on local, semi-fast and fast services. Nicknames “rakev” (coffin) and “apollo” refer to the front shape and to the colourful control panel lights. In recent years some duties have been taken over by newer units, but 843s remain in regular service on selected routes.
